Joining School No.17.
Places are given through the Ministry’s online system, not by the school office, so you apply on the state portals. Teaching is free.
Starting Grade 1.
Check the age
For the 2026–2027 school year, children born on or before 31 December 2019 start Grade 1.
Apply online
Use my.maktab.uz or my.gov.uz and choose School No.17 in Samarkand city.
Mind the two stages
From 20 June to 31 July, schools take children who live in their own micro-district. From 1 to 31 August, they take families from elsewhere, if places remain.
Talk to the office
Once your application is accepted, call or visit us to learn your child’s class. Lessons begin on 2 September.
Moving from another school.
Grades 2 to 11, at any time of year.
Ask for the transfer
Apply on my.maktab.uz or my.gov.uz, or write to the director of your child’s current school and give the reason.
Collect the departure slip
The current school answers within one working day and gives you a slip.
Bring it to us
Hand in the application and the slip at School No.17. The same day we give you an arrival slip for the old school.
No. We are a state school, and general secondary education in Uzbekistan is free.
Mostly Russian. Local languages are taught as well. Ask the office which classes are open when you apply.
Yes. For Grade 1, apply in the second stage, from 1 to 31 August. Places depend on what is left after the first stage.
